Writing Numbers
 

Writing/reading whole numbers require you to look at the numbers as grouped by commas.   To read the number,

  1. Start at the right most group
  2. Determine which group it is .... Billion, Million, Thousand
  3. One group at a time, read the grouped digits ... followed by the name of the group   
Billion, Million, Thousand,

Think: 34 Thousand, 567
Write: Thirty Four Thousand, Five Hundred Sixty Seven
2.     745,512
Think: 745 Thousand, 512
Write: Seven Hundred Forty-Five Thousand, Five Hundred Twelve
3.     234
Think: 234
Write: Two Hundred Thirty-Four
4.     12,623,341
Think: 12 Million, 623 Thousand, 341
Write: Twelve Million, Six Hundred Twenty-Three Thousand, Three Hundred Forty-One 
5.     23,255,675,213
Think: 23 Billion, 255 Million, 675 Thousand, 213
Write: Twenty Three Billion, Two Hundred Fifty-Five Million, Six Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand, Two Hundred Thirteen
