Equivalents 

  Things that look different, but, are the same.

 

Recognizing equivalent decimals:

Decimals  are equivalent if the shorter decimal can be turned into the longer number by adding zeroes ... or

Drawings of the two numbers look the same.    

The following are examples of  decimal equivalents.

Decimal Equivalents
7.4   and  7.40  change to 7.40 and 7.40
6.87 and  6.8700 change to  6.8700 and 6.8700
0.3450  and  0.345 change to 0.3450 and 0.3450
0.60 and  0.6 change to 0.60 and 0.60
